That schedule calls for cladding and trim in muted tones of green, brown or beige, or other colours the Shire approves, and for outside finishes with less than 40 percent reflectivity. Two older places, Tornvilla in Morris Road and a house in Wattle Place, also have heritage paint controls. Check with the Shire before going bright or glossy.
Painting the outside while a holiday house is empty
At the 2021 Census 93% of occupied McCrae homes were separate houses, and 51.7% had three bedrooms. On census night 34.5% of private dwellings were empty.
