Why mould comes back through new paint
Mould grows where steam settles on a cool ceiling and never quite dries. Paint rolled straight over it seals the mould in, and before long the black spots show through the new coat. Painting over it doesn't fix it. The mould has to be treated and cleaned off first, and only then is the ceiling ready for paint.
What happens before the paint goes on
Our crews treat and clean every mouldy wet-area ceiling before painting it. Once it's clean and dry, it gets painted. That step is written into your quote, so you can see it's part of the job rather than something that gets skipped when time runs short.
Keeping it from coming back
Paint can't fix a room that stays damp. An exhaust fan that works and is left running after a shower, a window opened, or the door left ajar all help a ceiling dry out. If mould keeps returning after that, there may be a leak or poor ventilation, and that's worth having a plumber or electrician look at before the room is repainted.

Older houses
